Mr Turner(12A)

Timothy Spall won Cannes Best Actor Award for his portrayal of the great, eccentric, British painter J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851). Profoundly affected by the death of his father, loved by a housekeeper he takes for granted, he forms a close relationship with a seaside landlady with whom he eventually lives incognito in Chelsea, until he dies. He travels, paints, stays with the country aristocracy, visits brothels, gets strapped to the mast of a ship to paint a snowstorm, and is both celebrated and reviled by the public and royalty. Wednesday 4 March, 7.30pm and Tuesday 10 March, 2pm. 150 minutes.
