Meet the Cows

Join us for Meet the Cows 2026, a ticket-only event where you can visit our friendly Belted Galloway cattle in their winter home at the cattle barns in Howes Retreat. Get up close to the cows and discover fascinating facts about our famous “living lawnmowers” and the vital role they play in managing the Box Moor Trust estate. Our knowledgeable Rangers will be on hand throughout the session to answer your questions and share insights about these wonderful animals. During your visit, enjoy refreshments, fun children’s activities, and learn more about the work of the Box Moor Trust. We’ll also have our pop-up Box Moor Trust shop, with the opportunity to adopt your very own Beltie Cow. Three sessions are running on Saturday 21st February: - 11.30am - 12.30pm - 1pm - 2pm - 2pm - 3pm
