The Dream of a Ridiculous Man
On a bleak night in a big city, a man convinced that "nothing in the world matters" decides to end his life. But as he falls into a heavy sleep, he is whisked away on a cosmic odyssey to a "Second Earth" - a paradise untouched by grief, shame, or sin.
Dostoevsky’s final, visionary short story is brought to life in this searing solo performance. Moving from the depths of nihilistic despair to a blinding, spiritual awakening, the production explores the terrifying power of a single soul to both corrupt and redeem a world.
This is a psychological journey through the darkness toward a radical, beautiful hope. In an age of cynicism, Dostoevsky’s masterpiece asks the ultimate question: is it truly "ridiculous" to believe in the goodness of humanity?
Dostoevsky’s profound story has been performed by a number of outstanding actors, including Jeremy Irons. Tom Larkin puts his personal stamp on it and delivers a tour de force. Set in our contemporary world, The Dream of a Ridiculous Man brings a powerful message of hope, love and the potential for transformation.
